One of the most important component of ORCHID is our Reading Program. Pick-A-Book is a distinct area of the school with a variety of board books, picture books, digital books & comfortable seating. It helps in promoting critical thinking skills, listening skills and enhance creative and social development of a child. NAEYC recommends an early exposure to print concepts in pre-schools through reading, in order to help children learn that printed words and oral language correspond through reading aloud activities. Reading helps in creating PHONEMIC AWARENESS i.e- the way a child understands how words are made from different sounds.
